MAX MEHRING
Max Mehring descends from an ancient artists family.
His mashup technique is unique and much admired. Through it he
creates inimitable works that integrate various materials.

Max Mehring
1965 born in Nishnij Tagil / Russia.
Max Mehring descends from an ancient artists family. His father was a professional painter and taught painting, graphic design and art history at the local university.
„Our house was full of paintings“, Mehring recalls, whos
father had evoked his love for drawing and painting very early on.
During his time at school Max already visited art lessons for graphic
design and painting.
His school career was followed by 4 years of
vocational training, and a masterclass at the technical college of
arts completed his studies.
But the way to art as a profession wasn´t always straight. The artist who has always had a strong interest in literature and german culture got an impulse to fiddle with the german language and writing during his military service in Weimar. He studied German philology and educational sciences and graduated with a diploma as a foreign language teacher.
When he showed his new hometown Trier to a friend and art professor and they both drew and sketched the rows of houses, he became inspired to tread the artistic path again.
In 1998 the studio where he continues to creates all his works was built near Trier.
Max Mehrings style is hard to classify – he is enthused by modern painting and admires the old impressionists. He is both – a disciplined craftsman and an inspired artist.
He captures his themes with the analytic look of a graphic designer and dissolves all linearity with acrylic paint.
His mashup technique is unique and much admired. Through it he creates inimitable works that integrate various materials
