Wladislaw Safronow has created his own painters world , which he
himself calls „New Mythology“. Whether he portrays animals,
humans, cities or abstract compositions – he always works in his
own unique style, which leds all objects a highly stylised and
silhouette-like shape which let´s them appear to be archaic and
modern simultaneously.
His unique painting technique combines
aspects of classic oil painting with modern structure materials and
thereby individuate his works.
No fleeting glance of an expert is able to expose Safronows paintings as being merely decorative objects executed in a versatile way, which are solely defined by stilistic idiosyncrasies and subtleties. The true lover of art will recognize that there is much more to the artists paintings than the eye can fathom – it is an impulse, an intuitive comprehension which flows through the beholder as soon as he treads the path of discovery which is spread out before him.
Each painting is an undertow which sucks the spectator into the multifaceted world of the artist, it commands him to look behind the forms and decorative adornments in order to admit oneself to a journey of continuous discoveries.
One instinctively looks for clandestine messages, some hidden
truths, which the artist secretly tries to slip through the many
symbols and letters within the paintings. However one soon realizes
that this technique together with the soft, lyrical and sometimes
bold use of colours as well as the archaic but modern objects is much
more than the mere rendering of the artists most intimate emotions.
Emotions, thoughts, experiences and realizations of the artist are
being reflected, merge into a structured, individual pattern and
form an almost mythical unity.
Every painting is a suspenseful
riddle for the innerworld, a metaphysical construct, in which the
painter celebrates his freedom and infects us with it.
The graphic structures of clothes and surfaces of object in the
paintings creates a third dimension it´s a new reality to be
experienced, as a picture reality which blends into the reality of
the spectator. The „mystery of banality“ is an invitation, a
challenge to look behind the facade and ultimately to simply enjoy
authentic art.
