MARCO GRIESER-RØNNEVIG

"....The stars start to dance, the dreamlike effect increases, and you will be addicted to the magic of the paintings of Marco Grieser-Rønnevig...." (Munich Merkur)

Marco Grieser-Rønnevig

Marco Grieser-Rønnevig

1973
born in Deisenhofen near Munich

After graduating from High School Marco lives in Ireland and then in the UK.
He studies Art in Cardiff and Falmouth.
During an exhibition in Oslo in 1999 he meets his future wife Eva Rønnevig.
This is the start of many joint projects.

In 2000 Marco Grieser-Rønnevig is selected for the UNESCO Aschberg bursary
and moves to his artist´s residency at the Paa Ya Paa Arts Centre in Nairobi/Kenya.
The works which he creates there are exhibited at the UN Headquarters in Gigiri.
Afterwards Eva and Marco organize BIKE ART AFRICA and cycle together with three local artists to
Dar-es-Salaam/Tanzania.
In the meantime they work together with both the Kenyan National Museum and
the Nyumba Ya Sanaa (House of Art) in Tanzania.

Back in Deisenhofen they found the "Lebenskunst Gallery" together with Marco´s brother Roland.

In 2002 Eva and Marco Grieser-Rønnevig collect their musical instruments and sketchbooks to
walk with a mule in the Ecuadorian Andes for a few months.
Then they live together on a houseboat in Cornwall in the southwest of England for several years.
After about a decade of art experiments in the field of metal art sculpturing, recycling installations and
ornamental photographing Marco Grieser-Rønnevig returns to the art of painting and
founds the Atelier ArtPunch together with his wife Eva at the foot of the French Pyrenees.

Marco´s artworks are inspired by his extensive travelling, by music and by his passion for different languages,
cultures and lifestyles. He plays with vibrant colours on canvas which are applied in numerous thick and thin layers.
The visual content is being held together by flowing white lines which grant the painting a moving and clear style
at the same time.
